Painting with Rain

There is pure magic in the gaps between rain and sun resulting in dramatic landscapes and moody cloudscapes. The more robust the conditions, the more vibrant the paints.

Here is a collection of my images created over the last few summers in the Swiss and French Alps around Villars-sur-Ollon and, across the border, in Chamonix. The tempestuous conditions, summer storms interspersed with scorching sun, have produced a potent palette of colours and moods.

Peaking through the clouds, there is le Miroir de l’Argentine in Bex in Switzerland, the charming Lac des Chavonnes just above Villars, also in the Swiss Alps, and the more famous summits of le Massif du Mont Blanc in France.

The images are available to buy as fine art prints reproduced on museum quality paper. They work well in large formats mounted on aluminium, as shown above, creating stunning centrepieces, as well as more intimate, signed, limited edition framed prints. All artworks, whatever the size, are provided with a certificate of authenticity.
